I have often gone with pinot but this year I think I’m leaning more toward gamay, specially a bottle of gamay noir from Modales Winery in Michigan. If I had another bottle of Elena Walch or Abazzia di Novacella schiava in my stash, that would come, too. I may bring a grenahce blanc as well.

All three sound delicious! I’d happily drink all three in the order you listed them.

In the past I’ve leaned toward Barbera or Sangiovese when I’ve hosted turkey day.

The place where I’ll have Thanksgiving this year (in Venice) is serving Lagrein, which should be interesting. If you were going to pick one of those three grapes which would be your top choice?

Lagrein all the way. Along with Schiava, they both give me ski chalet vibes, mountaintop coziness, and just enough rustic berry to match that earthy roast bird.
