Tastefully Wine Wednesday: FREE Edition!
You ask, I answer. A Tastefully Premium Experience (free this week!)
Hello wine lovers!
Welcome to Wine Wednesdays. A Tastefully Plus, premium feature, normally reserved for paid subscribers. Your support helps me continue to do what I love, so this is for you!
As a little thank you to all of my readers, I’m opening up the comments to EVERYONE this week!
I’m working on recap of my 22 hours in Torino, including a forthcoming piece on Vermouth. (Delicious, herb and spice-infused fortified wine), so keep your eyes on your mailbox.
In the meantime…. ask away!
Ask me anything (about wine)
I’m a wine professional, certified sommelier and everything. People ask me wine questions all the time.
Don’t be shy. The more details you provide, the better.
Need some inspiration? Here’s a selection of questions I’ve been asked over the years.
What’s the best country for wine? Contentious, but fun conversation starter.
White wine always tastes sweet to me. Can you suggest one that isn’t?
Why does white wine give me heartburn? I get the same question for red…
I’ve got a big event and need to buy at least few cases of what’s a good wine for the value? I used to do wine events in NYC, where budget was always tight! I’ll need more details for a question like this (location/occasion/food)
I’m going to Rome, what are some of your favorite wine bars?
What does corked wine taste like, and can you still drink it?
What is natural wine? Do not even get me started! But no, do! Great topic. So many opinions. And so many great wines!
Rules of the Game
Post your questions in the comments, and I will answer them over the course of the week. Only paid subscribers to the comment section.
Ask me anything, but please be respectful. I’m a certified sommelier with particular expertise in Italian wines.
I’ve been writing, selling, marketing, and teaching wine since 2008, but the learning never ends.
If I don’t feel qualified to answer, I’ll check in with a fellow sommelier, wine maker, restauranteur, or consultant. We’ve got you covered.

Here's an example: I love fish, but white wine always gives me crazy dreams at night! What are some other seafood pairing ideas?
I visited Greece for my honeymoon and adored the country, traveling to a few different places and islands within. The wine that we drank was often sweet. Why is that and, can you recommend some of your favorite (non-sweet) Greek wines? Bonus if they are available in the U.S. (and particularly California)!
