Rome Dreamer Suite
A romantic guest house with a garden terrace in the heart of Rome is now open for booking.
A Labor of Love
I’m overjoyed to announce that after nearly three years of renovations, the Rome Dreamer Suite is open for bookings!
Some of you have been following this story since September of 2022. For the rest of you… the Rome Dreamer Suite has been quite the adventure for me.
This purchase was a privilege born out of tremendous loss–my mother first and foremost, as well as the wine bar I came so close to opening in New York City. I like to think that a creative and nurturing spirit fills every inch of this tiny apartment, and life climbs and blooms all over the terrace year round. Without end.
I poured my heart into this place. I did my best to create the kind of space I would like to come home to after a long day of walking around the most beautiful city in the world.
Just the two of us
It’s the perfect size for one or two people. The couch is just big enough for a nap. It does not fold out.
Trastevere, Rome
The neighborhood is very lively at night, especially on weekends. Trastevere is one of Rome’s most charming areas. It’s blown up in the past decade or so and this street and nearby Piazza Trilussa attract a young, international crowd. It’s not the block I would live on 365 days a year, but as a traveler, you can’t get any more central than this.
Double-glazed windows keep the house pretty quiet, and the terrace faces the much quieter back street. Rome’s centro storico, the ancient city center, is just across the river.
Exceptional Eating and Drinking
Two of Rome’s best bars are minutes from the house. Freni e Frizioni, a converted auto-body shop on the riverside drive is now a buzzing local and international favorite. The Jerry Thomas Bar Room is the absolute opposite. Quiet, exclusive and (almost) impossible to get into.
Restaurants within minutes are fantastic. Almost everything is a short walk away. And if you get tired, there’s a taxi depot in the piazza.
La Renella bakery has been around longer than anyone remembers (aka since 1870).
If you get lost, follow the scent of their fresh loaves and long, Roman-style focaccia (pizza bianca). It’s sold by the slice, plain and with toppings, along with a host of other sweet and savory delicacies.
The wine shop (enoteca), Vanda is just across the street. Naturally.
There's an incredible produce market ten minutes away, and I planted aromatic herbs on the terrace, should your inner Italian chef suddenly surge. The kitchen is fully outfitted, including an ice maker. That’s a novelty over here!
There’s a full selection of glassware on the bar. For the future, I’m building collaborations with local businesses and wineries to provide add-ons for wine and food lovers. Stay tuned!
Warm hospitality and all the help you need
My management company is courteous and professional, and on the clock 24/7.
They can answer any logistical questions you may have before and during your stay. They also provide a detailed guide to the city, and the neighborhood. These guys are on top of it.
